Great question! Here are a few things (of many) that God’s Word says.
- We are all sinners and separated from God, and without His salvation we’re destined to eternity without Him.
“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” (Romans 3:23 NLT)
“All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the LORD laid on him [Jesus] the sins of us all.” (Isaiah 53:6 NLT)
- Everyone can clearly see evidence that God exists, by observing His spectacular Creation, and listening to their conscience; and each one then has a choice to turn to God for salvation—or not.
“For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.” (Romans 1:20 NLT)
“Even Gentiles, who do not have God’s written law, show that they know his law when they instinctively obey it, even without having heard it. They demonstrate that God’s law is written in their hearts, for their own conscience and thoughts either accuse them or tell them they are doing right.” (Romans 2:14-15 NLT)
- The only One who can save us—pay the debt for our sins and reconcile us to God—is Jesus Christ.
“Jesus told him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.’” (John 14:6 NLT)
“For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, ‘The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.’ There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:11-12 NLT)
The name “Jesus” (in Hebrew “Yeshua”) means Jehovah is Salvation. He was—and always will be—God. Jesus is not just another guy who showed up later.
Jesus Christ (Messiah) is the focal point in the scriptures of all time and eternity, the only One who can save us!
Beginning with Adam and Eve, the Old Testament people looked forward to Messiah. All through scripture prophecies and signs pointed to a promised Savior. Now those of us living after Christ’s atoning death and resurrection look back knowing Who He is and what He did. No matter where a person is on the earthly timeline, Jesus is the only Savior. Our only hope.
- Salvation and reconciliation with God comes only by His grace, through faith in Jesus Christ.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” (Ephesians 2:8 NIV)
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23 NLT)
- There will be people in Heaven who have received His salvation from every tribe, language, people and nation worshiping Jesus.
“For you [Jesus the Lamb of God] were slaughtered, and your blood has ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.” (Revelation 5:9 NLT)
- God wants EVERYONE to come to Him for salvation, and invites EVERYONE in the world to turn to Him!
“The Lord is …not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9 NKJV)
“For there is no other God but me, a righteous God and Savior. There is none but me. Let all the world look to me for salvation! For I am God; there is no other.” (Isaiah 45:21-23 NLT)
By faith, will YOU look to Him for salvation today?
